Carospeed^® Go is designed for drivers who cannot use conventional foot pedals, but refuse to let anything hold them back. The hand control is intuitive and user-friendly, enabling you to drive with peace of mind, regardless of where your journey leads.

Its flexibility helps create a personalised driving experience while maintaining ease of use. Carospeed^® Go can be adapted to suit individual preferences and driving positions. Mounted by the driver's seat, its adjustable features include the position, height, angle, and orientation of the control's knob.

It is a fully mechanical driving aid that allows drivers to pull for acceleration and push for braking, and it includes a hill holder function. The original foot pedal functionality remains fully intact. So, even with Carospeed^® Go installed, your car is accessible to drivers of all abilities.

To suit all drivers and vehicles, Carospeed^® Go is highly adjustable and flexible. For instance, you can:

Position the car seat flexibly to enhance comfort and accessibility for users with varying heights.

Making motorsport accessible by hand

BraunAbility’s own Mathias Sandell has made it his personal mission to make motorsport accessible. What began in 2025 at a trade fair with a modest Peugeot 107 equipped with a Carospeed^® Go hand control has now grown into an expanding wheelchair racing team.

“Although we had only known each other for about an hour after first meeting at a motor show, we clicked straight away. During our first race, we immediately knew what needed to be done and how to do it,”

explains Application Engineer Mathias Sandell, who is very proud of his new team.

And rightly so, as Para Racing SWE now dominates racing circuits and leaderboards through the use of hand controls.

Accessible motorsport for everyone

For Mathias and his teammates Ronny Persson and Per Jameson, endurance races lasting several hours, driver changes involving wheelchairs, or the modest 68 horsepower of their race car are no obstacles on the road to success. While overtaking more powerful competitors, they are also inspiring others with their determination to take driving into their own hands.

„Everyone should be able to drive a race car,“

says Mathias with confidence.

Inspired by the continuous development of BraunAbility’s own hand controls, including the new Carospeed^® Go, he created an accessible race car that anyone interested can test drive. What was a natural extension of his daily work with mobility solutions for the passionate motorsport enthusiast has become nothing short of a milestone for the sport.

Handcrafted innovation that inspires others

The most recent accomplishment by the newly established team has stunned spectators in northern Sweden. After six sweaty hours of racing, the trio secured first place. Mathias explains:

„Taking into account the horsepower and strength of the other vehicles in the competition, this is an even more impressive achievement.“

During the pit stops, he and his two teammates had to change positions behind the wheel twice, including transferring in and out of their wheelchairs.

In the meantime, more than ten additional wheelchair racing drivers have already contacted Mathias to express their interest in the race car equipped with the new hand control.
