Vehicle adaptation for people with disabilities in the spotlight at the International Motor Show in Geneva, 7-17 March 2013

Accessibility takes centre stage at the International Motor Show in Geneva when the Swedish vehicle adaptation company Autoadapt together with its Swiss dealer Haueter AG premiere a handicap accessible Volkswagen Amarok in Hall 6 of between Volvo, Citroën and Mercedes.

Accessibility solutions are often associated with driving the wheelchair into a van model vehicle. With the swivel seat Turny, that swivels out and lowers down outside the car to facilitate transfer from the wheelchair, it is also possible to customize passenger cars.

"An adapted vehicle is of great significance as it increases independence for people with disabilities. Instead of just settling for a practical means of transport you want to be able to choose your car according to taste. The Turny Evo swivel seat on the driver's side enables adaptation of car segments previously unthinkable for drivers seated in a wheelchair", says Peter Wahlsten Vice President at Autoadapt regarding the adapted Volkswagen Amarok.

In addition to the Turny Evo seat lift the car is fully equipped for disabled drivers with hand controls for the gas and brake and a wheelchair hoist.
